Israel said today that a U.S.-Iran ceasefire deal “does not include Lebanon”, which was drawn into the war after Iran-backed group Hezbollah launched attacks on Israel.
“The two-weeks ceasefire does not include Lebanon,” the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.
The statement contradicted an earlier announcement by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has acted as a mediator in the conflict, that said the ceasefire covers “everywhere including Lebanon”.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA), which represents global airlines, has urged governments to adopt greater energy security around key issues such as jet fuel, IATA Chief Willie Walsh said today.
Ms. Walsh was speaking at a conference in Singapore as the Iran war drives up jet fuel costs for airlines across the world.

Mr. Trump is due to travel to Beijing in May to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt praised the two-week ceasefire in the Iran war, calling it a “victory” for the United States.
“This is a victory for the United States that President Trump and our incredible military made happen,” Ms. Leavitt wrote on X.
“The success of our military created maximum leverage, allowing President Trump and the team to engage in tough negotiations that have now created an opening for a diplomatic solution and long-term peace.”
